Leadership

Christopher A. Jackson earned an Associate in Applied Science(’01) in Machinery Technology concentration in Machining and Tool Maker from Guilford Technical Community College, and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science (’10) in Applied Engineering Technology with a concentration in Manufacturing Systems from North Carolina A&T State University. He was employed as a machine operator with AMP Inc. & Tyco Electronics in roles of Material Handler, Team Leader, and Manufacture Technical Machinist level III. While employed at AMP Inc, Mr. Jackson was awarded recognition for implementing a Kaizen project with an annual cost savings of $1.24 million to reduce waste and downtime and increase productivity.

Upon graduation, Mr. Jackson was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer with GE in Chicago, Illinois, and was promoted into the Operational Management Leadership Program, where he energized fabrication for more reliable tool design, boosting production by 50%.

Mr. Jackson has worked for several Fortune 500 companies to apply his experience,  acquired knowledge, and unique skills set, to save millions of dollars in reducing scrap, eliminating downtime, and increasing production in various manufacturing environments.  He has successfully documented and recorded projects that have saved companies more than $5 million.   His leadership roles include Department Head, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer, and Vice President of Manufacturing and Quality Control.

In 2015, DeChoker hired Mr. Jackson as the Vice President of Manufacturing and Quality Control, where he redesigned the 2nd generation of the DeChoker. This choking device saved the lives of many elderly persons and children.  The device was molded and manually put together, causing extensive wait time for the product to be used.  As a result, he designed and built new molds that allowed the product to be screwed together with no downtime for product use, managing teams in the US, China, UAE, Vietnam, and Mexico to launch the product. As a Senior Quality Engineer with expertise in plastic, rubber, and metalwork, he has also managed and successfully launched the BMW X5, X6, and X7.

In 2017, Mr. Jackson founded Smart Technology S-Corp., where he is the President and Chief Executive Officer. Smart Technology, based in Greensboro, NC, is machining metalwork and injection molding providers on metal works and plastic goods.  In 2020, Smart Technology became a Certified Minority Business Enterprise. He plans to grow his company and give others opportunities to grow with him.

Mr. Jackson is currently enrolled at Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management in their MBA program to expand his business knowledge while serving on North Carolina A&T State University’s Advisory Board’s Department of Applied Engineering Technology.

Mr. Christopher Jackson has been happily married to Jacqueline Jackson for twelve years and is thankful to have five beautiful children.
